Twelve signs stand on a circle, thirty degrees apart. The angle between the two you pick is what decides everything. One element gives a trine, one hundred and twenty degrees, the softest angle there is: those two never have to explain themselves to each other. Same modality with different elements gives a square, ninety degrees, the angle of friction. Straight across the circle is an opposition, attraction and argument at once.
