What kinds of psychology test there are
Psychology tests measure different things, and it helps not to mix them up. Some show a stable trait of your character, others your state today. These are the four main kinds, and for each we have a proven method.
Personality type
These measure the stable mold: how you think, decide and relate. The best known is the 16-type MBTI-style test across four axes.
Temperament
These show the type of nervous system you were born with: choleric, sanguine, phlegmatic, melancholic. Our temperament test follows Eysenck.
Emotional state
These measure how you are now, not how you always are. Self-esteem by Rosenberg, anxiety by GAD-7, depression by PHQ-8 (screeners, not diagnoses).
Relationships
About how you love and bond. The love language test by Chapman, its five ways of giving and receiving affection.
Frequently asked
Are your psychology tests free?
Yes, every test is free and needs no sign-up. You take it, see the result and its analysis, and that is it.
How far can you trust online psychology tests?
It depends on which one. We build ours only on real psychological models and say honestly what each one can and cannot show. It is a guide and a reason to know yourself, not a medical diagnosis.
How long does a test take?
One to five minutes. The Lüscher one takes a minute, temperament and self-esteem two or three, the personality test about five.
Do I need to register?
No. No account, no email, no payment: you open it, take the test and see your result.
Can I retake a test?
Yes, as many times as you like. Character tests (temperament, personality) come out stable, and state tests (self-esteem, Lüscher) can shift from day to day, and that is normal.
Does a test replace seeing a psychologist?
No. A test is a mirror and a reason to stop and think, not a consultation. If something truly worries you, talk to a professional: the test does not replace that.
