Meaning of the Hagalaz rune

Hail out of the sky: elemental damage, a trial nobody signed up for. Hagalaz is a force that strikes from outside and does not ask permission first. Wait it out, then clear the ground and begin again. What it brings down was usually standing on something that would not have held much longer anyway.

The shadow side

Hagalaz is symmetrical, so turning it leaves the same sign and there is no reversed position. Every force still has its dark edge. This rune does not reverse, hail falls the same from every side. Its shadow is in taking the blow for an ending and missing the clearing that comes before something new. In a hard surrounding it says the storm is real, and so is the open ground it leaves you.
