The Love & Relationships Tarot Spread

Five cards about what's really going on between you, underneath the words and the gestures.

When to use it

Reach for it when you want to understand the feelings, yours and theirs, and where the whole thing is moving.

Pull the cards

Hold your question about this spread in mind. The cards are already dealt face down in their positions, so flip each one yourself, upright or reversed as it falls, and read it together with its place. The full reading in my voice happens in the Mirror. Here you listen to the cards on your own.

The positions

12345
The numbers are the positions from the list below, in reading order.

1. You - What you truly feel and want, even if you won't admit it to yourself.

2. The other person - Their side of things, as the deck shows it: what they bring to this bond.

3. What holds you together - The basis of the attraction: passion, tenderness, habit, a kinship of souls, or something else entirely.

4. What gets in the way - The tension or the obstacle, the thing the two of you keep tripping over.

5. Where it's heading - The likely direction if you leave everything as it is. That tendency can still be turned around.

How to read it

Start with the two people cards, then what lies between you, the support and the obstacle side by side, like the two pans of a scale. Read the fifth card, the outcome, in the light of the first four.

What to remember

The deck can't read someone else's heart directly. It shows you a reflection of the bond as you feel it. That makes it a way to understand yourself, and it shouldn't be turned into a verdict on anyone.

FAQ

How do you do a love tarot spread?

Settle yourself, decide who and what you're asking about, and draw five cards by position: you, the other person, what holds you together, what gets in the way, and where it's heading. Read the two people cards together, then the bond between them.

Will a tarot spread show whether someone loves me?

The deck doesn't open up someone else's heart directly. It shows a reflection of the bond as you feel it, which helps you understand yourself and the dynamic, but it's no substitute for an actual conversation with this person.

What's the difference between a love and a relationship tarot spread?

At heart it's the same five-card spread about the bond between two people. The relationship version is just broader: it works for an established couple, for something that's only beginning, and for a tangled story where feelings and questions are all mixed together.
